Overview
Welcome to the fourth largest island in the world, the magnificent Madagascar. Besides being home to nine-tenths of the world's lemurs, Madagascar has an amazing array of terrains and climates, from rainforests to deserts to canyon deeps. Our expert guides will teach you about all the varied and exotic splendor of this fantastic island, including rare orchids and vasa parrots. And, of course, those wildly diverse lemur critters.
Across Madagascar's stunningly beautiful national parks and reserves, from the Berenty and Perinet to the islet of Nosy Be, you'll track some of the following lemurs: the dancing sifaka lemurs, the indri indri, ringtails, mouse lemurs, the golden bamboo lemurs and many more. Take a safari walk by moonlight and learn more about lemur habitats and behavior from our expert guides.
The trip is divided into North and South itineraries, and it is possible to join only half of the trip. Nichole Smaglick, president and co-founder of Another Land, will also serve as an overseas escort for the South trip, which includes safaris in Berenty, Perinet, and Ranomafana. The North tour takes you to one of the most wonderful bays in the world at Diego Suarez, and includes a hike and safari around Amber Mountain on the Fourth of July, and a relaxing stay on the islet of Nosy Be.
You will also take part in lively celebrations for Madagascar's Independence Day, June 26, in Antananarivo! So come along to Another Land for Lemurs and Moonlight Safaris in Madagascar.
