Luxury at it's Best!
These properties are truly the best available while on safari for decor, service, food and amenities. The design, vision and cuisine behind each property is superb.
The Norfolk Hotel
The Norfolk has played a leading role in Kenya's colorful history, and continues to be Nairobi's finest and best-known hotel. The town and later the modern city of Nairobi grew up around The Norfolk, which still has its own private tropical gardens. The hotel is still the traditional starting point for safaris and the Lord Delamere Terrace is modern Nairobi's most famous meeting place, where drinks and light meals are served continuously from morning until midnight.
Samburu Intrepids
Situated on the banks of the Uaso Nyiro River in the arid heart of Samburu National Reserve, Samburu Intrepids looks out over riverbanks where herds of elephant, buffalo and zebra come daily to drink – together with the rarer ‘northern species’ of reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx and long-necked gerenuk antelope. Accommodations consist of 27 luxurious tents overlooking the riverbanks, large four-poster beds and classic safari furniture, modern en suite bathrooms with steaming showers and secluded verandahs with all-day bar service.
The Ark
Located in the heart of Aberdare National Park, The Ark is known as a "tree hotel", built on pilons in such a way as not to disturb the animals around the waterhole. This tree-lodge is uniquely shaped to resemble the actual Ark, designed with decks from which numerous balconies and lounges provide superb vantage points for viewing the animals visiting the salt-lick and waterhole.
Lion Hill Lodge
Lion Hill is a beautiful retreat set in Lake Nakuru National Park - home to thousands of pink flamingoes and pelicans. Each of the recently refurbished chalets are equipped with private en-suite facilities and have an astounding view of the pink rimmed lake. Both restaurant and bar also provide views of the water and arrangements can also be made to dine directly on the lake shore.
Mara Explorer Camp
This exclusive five-star camp, situated on a thickly forested river in the middle of the Maasai Mara reserve, offers guests the ultimate wilderness retreat, where you can watch elephants or giraffes drinking from the privacy of your verandah – or from your own outdoor Victorian bathtub!
In the Village
While in the village be ready to camp ... the way explorers of times gone by did. Camps consist of full standup tents with proper beds, showers and toilet facilities, tables, chairs, camp hands, waiters, mess tent, cooks, etc and will be set up prior to your arrival.
