The Unexplored South
From savannahs and valleys to mountains

Your journey through Southern Tanzania.

Getting from here to there

On this safari, you’ll use many forms of transportation, such as planes, open-sided vehicles and your own two feet. While in Dar es Salaam, roads are well paved and you’ll be escorted by vehicle to and from the airport. Your flights to and returning from the Selous Reserve are scheduled charter flights. Upon arrival in the Selous, you will be escorted in the vehicles belonging to the camps and mostly consist of specially adapted open-sided vehicles. Roads within the Selous are all dirt and mostly dirt trails made for 4WD vehicles. Travelers should be prepared for bumpy roads, mud if it's rainy and dust if dry. Boats used on the river are motorized. During your walking safari, your two feet will be your chariot.
